All meetings will be held in the Scarborough Art Gallery (except 12th March 2012) which has to be arranged. All meetings take place on the second Monday in the month at 2.30 p.m. 2011 DECEMBER 12th "THE UNUSUAL ADVENTURES OF A BIBLE” by Patricia McNaughton, chairman of Scarborough Branch of the East Yorkshire Family History Society. Patricia has had an exciting time researching the story of William Hannay who in 1703 was appointed minister of a Presbyterian church in Scarborough. The bible is supposed to have saved his life when being pierced by a pike meant for him. He retired to a farm in St. Sepulchre Street in 1725. 2012 JANUARY 9th "THE MAGIC OF SCARBOROUGH” by Joy Lomas, a local painter inspired by photographs by Max Payne. She has worked on the distortion of perspective when seen through glass. FEBRUARY 13th "The art of the etcher" by M ichael Atkin, a printmaker with over 40 years experience producing limited edition etchings, lino prints and books. Founded Bracken Press a 'private press' in 1974.MARCH 12th We are lucky that Scarborough born RICHARD SEYMOUR, one of the world’s top designers, has agreed to speak to us. His company Seymourpowell is responsible for designs such as the world’s first cordless kettle and pocketable mobile phone. More information later. APRIL 16th A.G.M. "TOM LAUGHTON, ART COLLECTOR" by Jan Bee Brown, former curator of Exhibitions at the Scarborough Museums Trust.
